Notes

For extra flavor, roast the sweet potatoes instead of boiling. Experiment with different spices like cardamom or chili powder. Use warm milk or cream for a creamier texture. Avoid overmixing the potatoes to prevent a gummy texture. Mashed sweet potatoes can be made ahead of time and reheated. They can also be frozen for later use. Add a squeeze of fresh orange or lemon juice for a brighter flavor. Brown butter adds a nutty flavor twist. Variations include Savory, Coconut, Spicy, Apple Cinnamon, and Loaded versions.
